Contextual information ανανεανες is one of the apechemata of the Byzantine Music and it means ἄναξ [ναὶ] ἄνες. On its interpretation, see the so-called Hagiopolites text, ed. Raasted (1983: 11).

The epigram is accompanied by the following note:
ἐγράφη, τὸ παρὸν βιβλίον, διὰ χειρὸς παπᾶ στεφάνου, ἱερέως νικολάου, τοῦ ἐπίκλην κολυμβᾶ μουσικοῦ, καὶ πρωτοψάλτου τῆς πόλεως κορλιάνου: ἐν μηνὶ μαρτίω εἰς τὰς λ· ἡμέρα ε· ὥρα θ τῆς ἡμέρας· τρέχοντος ἔτη ς ϡ λ β· τῆς τρἰτης ἰνδ. (1425).
