Palaeographical information The two verses are written on the same line, but are separated by means of a blank space, as if they were written in two columns.
Contextual information This epigram follows a declaration of assent to the synodic Tomos of 1341, condemning Barlaam. It is the last one in a series of three in honour of St James 'the Lord's brother' whose commemoration day is 23rd of October. The declaration was signed on the very day of 23rd of October.
