| Comment | This epigram is immediately followed by a remark of the scribe: 'σὺν <θεῷ> ,αυου' ἐν μηνὶ ἰαννουαρίω ιβ' χειρὶ γραφεὶς τῆ τλήμονι Ἀντωνίω πρεσβυτέρω'. The words 'σὺν <θεῷ>' place doubt on the metrical status of the text. Is the scribe still aware of him writing a verse or is he unknowingly using a widespread formula? |
