Contextual information | This epigram is followed by a poem of Christophoros Mitylenaios ‘Εἰς τὰς μαργαρίτας’ (inc. Ναὶ μαργαρῖτα χειλέων σῶν οἱ λόγοι). Both epigrams precede the Batrachomyomachia of Homer. These epigrams were separated from their original context, and placed as book epigrams to accompany the Batrachomyomachia. |
