Γλυκύτητα μέλιτος πῶς ἀπαγγείλω τοῖς ἀγνοοῦσιν (after the epigram)
 
Ἀνὴρ σοφός τις ἐν παλαιτάτοις χρόνοις
Τὴν ἡδονὴν μέλιτος ὡς ὑπὲρ λόγον
Ἄφατον οὖσαν ἠπόρηκεν ἐκφράσαι
Τοῖς ἀνοηταίνουσιν ὡς μὴ εἰδόσι.
Τοίνυν ἀκραιφνῶς ὡς ἅγαν ἀραρότως,
Τὴν αὐτοϊσότητα κατίδοις, φίλε,
Τριττοῖς γε βίβλοις τοῖς Σιβυλλείοις πλέον
Τοῖς οὖσιν ὧδε σανίσιν εὐκοσμίαις.
