μανουὴλ τοῦ μαλιασηνου
 
ὡς ἄγαμαί σου τῆς γραφῆς πυθαγόρα
σοφ(ῶς) γεμούσ(ης) ἀρετ(ῶν) πασ(ῶν) τύπον,
ὡς ὑπερεξήρησαι τῶν φιλοσόφων
ὡς ὑπερηκόντισας ἐν παραινέσ(ει)
τ(ὸν) πυκιμήδην καὶ σοφ(ὸν) φωκυλίδην·
πλ(ὴν) άλλ' ἐπωμνύοντα τῆ τετρακτύι
καταγελῶ σου τοὺς κενοὺς τούτους κόπους·
τριαδικὴν γὰρ παριδὼν ἐξουσίαν,
ποιητικὴν δή φημι τῆς τετρακτῦος,
τὴν τετρακτῦν ἔστερξας (ὡς) πανταιτία(ν).
βλέπων γὰρ οὐκ ἔβλεψας ὡς δαυὶδ λέγει:-
