ὁ τῶν ἀρετῶν τὰς βάσις καὶ τὰς τρίβους
ἅπασιν ἡμῖν σαφῶς ὑποδεικνύων
τοῖς τὸν μονήρι βίον προελομένοις,
σταθμῷ δὲ στίσας καὶ διακρίσει πάνυ
καὶ παραδόσας ἡμῖν τοῖς ἀτελέσι
τῶν τε λογισμῶν καὶ πράξεων ἁπάντων,
σύ μου προστάτης, ὡς ἔχων παρρησίαν,
γενοῦ πρὸς θεὸν τῷ λίαν σε ποθοῦντι
τῷ ἐπονύμως κληθέντι τοῦ Προδρόμου
καὶ χαρίσματος λαβὼν θεολογίας,
ἵνα λυτρωθῶ κολάσεων παντύων
καὶ ἐπιτύχω τῆς αὐτοῦ βασιλείας
