Comment According to Despotakis (2021: 407-408), the mention of Bessarion as cardinal of Nicea, but not as patricarch of Constantinople, in the epigram located at f. 4v suggests the date of May 15, 1463 as terminus ante quem for the dating of the manuscript. Despotakis also adds that the year 1463, just after Bessarion was appointed as Latin patriarch of Constantinople, could actually be the date of completion of the manuscript.
