Spatharakis (1976: 96): There is a bifolio which contains portaits of the family of Basil I (867-886) providing the key to the date of the manuscript.
According to Brubaker (1985: 11-13) the patriarch Photios commissioned the manuscript as a present to the emperor Basil I.
According to Weitzmann (1971: 624) the manuscript is datable between 880-886. |
